Have you changed your ‘buts’ to ‘ands?’

Of all the people on the planet, you talk to yourself more than anyone. Make sure you are saying the right things.
— Martin Rooney

Have you ever thought about how your word choice could be affecting your mindset, confidence, and belief in yourself? Even a small word such as but?

We are so mean to ourselves without even knowing it - we tend to be our harshest critics.

So here is a quick way to be kinder to yourself and your process.

  • The Goal: to have a more optimistic mindset and self-image

  • Purpose: to be kinder to ourselves and decrease the number of negative words that tend to devalue our process, purpose, confidence, and belief in ourselves

  • Action: change all your buts to ands. For example, instead of saying "I had more than 3 priorities...but still made time..." or "Despite all that, I pushed myself to...".

I have noticed that small changes like using "and" instead of "but" has helped increase my pride and joy in my process. Try it for yourself and let me know how it goes in the comments below.
